Introduction

For various reasons, there are many aspirants who get their professional pilot’s license abroad and to get employed as a pilot in India, they have to convert the foreign license to meet Indian standard. Growth in Indian Civil Aviation Industry has manifested the shortage of pilots and now the government has simplified the process of converting foreign pilot licences to Indian ones.

Course Description

Orient Flights Aviation Academy (OFAA) offers a ‘License Conversion Course’ for valid CPL or CPL/IR license holder that has been issued overseas and intends to convert it to a valid Indian CPL. This course is offered both for single and multi-engine aircraft. OFAA also provides expert guidance required for the License Conversion Examination conducted by DGCA, as per the rules of the Government of India.

S.No. REQUIREMENTS DETAILS
1. Age 18 yrs of age & above
2. Qualification Valid Foreign License
3. Medical Valid Class I Medicals
4. Written Exams Passed all the conversion papers / Ground training also available
5. Flying Requirements Procedure to convert if preceding six months is Valid:

  • Flying Hours: 12:00 Hrs with IR and 11:00 Hrs without IR
  • 250 NMS x-co by day with at least one full stop landing other than departure aerodrome.
  • 120 NMS x-co by night by returning to the place of departure without landing anywhere.
  • Day test followed by 3 Take offs and Landings
  • Night test followed by 3 Take offs and Landings
  • IR test (If desired to take IR rating)

Procedure to convert if preceding six months is Expired:

  • Flying hours :-23:00 Hrs with IR and 18:00 Hrs without IR
  • 250 NMS x-co by day with at least one full stop landing other than departure aerodrome.
  • 120 NMS x-co by night by returning to the place of departure without landing anywhere.
  • Day test followed by 3 Take offs and Landings
  • Night test followed by 3 Take offs and Landings
  • Solo 10 take offs and Landings by night
  • Balance general flying to full fill the requirement of 15 hrs PIC
  • Instrument flying of 5 hrs including IR test (If desired to take IR rating)
6. Course Duration 4 Weeks
7. Validity of License 12 months
